TLC Meter model 107
The Solinst 107 Level, Temperature, and Conductivity Probe is a high-precision, portable multiparameter instrument designed to measure water level, temperature, and electrical conductivity in environmental, hydrogeological, and industrial applications. Its robust design ensures reliable measurements in wells, piezometers, tanks, rivers, and lakes, making it ideal for groundwater monitoring campaigns, water quality control, and remediation studies.
The 107 Probe combines highly sensitive level sensors, accurate temperature, and electrical conductivity measurements, providing a comprehensive record of critical parameters for aquifer characterization, salinity analysis, water quality, and ion balance. Its durable construction ensures long-lasting performance and reliability even in demanding conditions.
Conductivity readings range from 0 to 80,000 μS/cm with an accuracy of 5% of the reading or 100 μS (whichever is greater).
Water level and depth measurements can be read directly on the flat PVDF tape, which is precisely laser-marked in 1 mm increments. The tapes are available in lengths up to 300m.

Level and Depth Measurements
When the zero point of the probe enters the water, an electrical circuit is completed, briefly triggering a sound and a light, and turning off the display for about 1 second. Then the water depth is read on the tape.
When the TLC meter is removed from the water, a brief buzz warns that the probe is now out of the water.
Temperature Measurements
The TLC probe operates within a temperature range from -15°C to +50°C (5°F to +122°F). The user can choose to have the readings displayed on the screen in °C or °F. The accuracy is +/- 0.2°C in Celsius, or +/- 0.4°F in Fahrenheit.
The 'smart' sensor automatically adjusts the conductivity readings and displays specific conductance. This results in standardized, repeatable measurements time and again.
The full temperature range of the TLC meter is from -20°C to 60°C. The minimum display temperature is -20°C; a temperature below -20°C will show ^^^^^^.
The maximum display temperature is 60°C; a temperature above 60°C will show ^^^^^^.
When the unit is turned on, the display shows conductivity and temperature.
Conductivity Measurements
The TLC probe uses a 'smart' sensor with platinum electrodes to read conductivity. The conductivity is displayed on the screen along with the associated temperature measurement. The 'smart' conductivity sensor automatically displays conductivity standardized to 25°C, that is specific conductance. The temperature-conductance coefficient is 2% per °C.
The complete conductivity range is from 0 to 80,000 uS/cm, and the calibrated range is from 500 to 80,000 uS/cm. Calibration is simple, using solutions of 1413 μS, 5000 μS, 12,880 μS, and/or 80,000 μS for manual conductivity calibrations of 1, 2, 3, or 4 points.
Since conductivity measurements are temperature-sensitive, a brief wait of 20 seconds per degree Celsius change in temperature is required for the measurements to stabilize at each desired depth before recording the three measurements.
