We have recently delivered one of our latest generation MPE systems for soil remediation at an oil facility.
Implemented remediation process:
- Liquid and gas phase extraction: Contaminated water and gases are simultaneously extracted from the subsurface (MPE), using the high vacuum system and pneumatic pumps in 15 wells.
- Phase separation: In the container's ATEX zone, a phase separator divides the mixture between liquids and gases extracted by the vacuum pump.
- Gas cooling: The gases are directed towards a cooler to reach a temperature within the optimal range for adsorption of volatile organic compounds on the substrate.
- Gas phase treatment: VOCs are retained as they pass through the activated carbon. With the Quick-Change system of the filters, the use of the carbon is optimized until fully exhausted before replacement. This also streamlines and enhances safety in maintenance tasks.
- Liquid phase treatment: Using pneumatic pumps, contaminated water is extracted and directed to a three-chamber hydrocarbon separator, where hydrocarbons are retained before the treated water is discharged.
