Introducing our Operations Technician, Anna Comas.
Her daily role: Operations Technician and Environmental Consultant.
Professional background: Environmental Scientist specializing in water treatment and reuse, with over 20 years of experience.
A phrase my mother told me when I was a child: “There will always be life on our planet, even if we are no longer here.” That made me realize that nature might actually be more intelligent than humans themselves, and that our survival depends on finding balance with our surroundings. This understanding motivated me to study environmental sciences and work to reduce human impact on nature in the hope of extending our existence.
I am responsible for organizing and overseeing the daily tasks of our field technicians to ensure quality service in installation, maintenance, emergencies, and after-sales support for our equipment. At the same time, I work as a consultant, conducting studies, handling administrative procedures, writing reports, and developing proposals for water management and reuse for companies.
The acceptance of women in the field of engineering has improved significantly, both in technical roles and in fieldwork, compared to my early experiences on-site. There are more female role models to look up to, which is helping to normalize the presence of women in science.
I would simply tell them to look around—at nature, at themselves, at the tools and instruments that make daily tasks easier—and ask: How does all this work? This simple curiosity is enough to see that science can provide answers, and if you don’t find them, you can be the one to discover them.

Anna combines her expertise as a consultant and operations technician.
