Automated in-situ remediation for chlorinated compounds
We recently designed a high vacuum in-situ remediation system for VOCs extraction in the unsaturated zone for a major automotive plant affected by organochlorines. The system also allows groundwater pumping (Dual Phase) and includes a separation line and specific activated carbon filters for its treatment.
Automation
A permanganate injection system has been designed for conducting ISCO (In-situ Chemical Oxidation – ISCO), completely automated and remotely configurable, thanks to PLC programming.
Smart treatment for each point
Starting from a permanganate concentrate in an IBC, we perform an automatic dilution with mains water to the desired injection concentration and instruct the system on the needed volume in liters for each treatment point. Thanks to the control of solenoid valves and flow meters, the system allows remote operation and can specify individually the treatment for each well.
Sensors throughout the process
In addition to system control, we have integrated a series of sensors that allow both alarm control via email and/or SMS and the collection of necessary data to monitor the remediation process. All data is in real-time. The entire system is designed before delivery with a P&ID for client reviews and to optimize the arrangement of all components within the plant.
