A micron rating for a disposable wastewater/groundwater filter relates to its pore size and is a generalized way of indicating the filter's ability to capture particles. In simple terms, the lower the micron rating, the more efficient the filter is at capturing smaller particles. The media Cm² pertains to the actual size of the filter media, which directly correlates to the effectiveness of the media's ability to filter out sediment. The lower the turbidity in the liquid, the smaller the cm² required. Conversely, the higher the turbidity in the liquid, the larger the cm² required.

The .45 micron 700 cm² filter can be used in many ways: 1. pump directly to the filter: the filter can be used in-line with any water pump with the correct pressure. 2. Gravity feed from the bailer directly to the filter: the filter can be used as a gravity feed filter for use with disposable bailers (FED (filter emptying device). This device is optional 3. Pressurized bailer directly into the filter: Filter can be used with pressurized bailer system. 4. Pressurized transfer vessel directly on the filter: Filter Can be used with a pressurized transfer vessel system with hand pump.
