Client Requirements:
Pumping and treatment of hydrocarbon-contaminated water in ATEX conditions for space-constrained applications.
Solution Provided:
Envirotecnics designed and manufactured a pneumatic pumping treatment unit with treatment to remove hydrocarbons (pump-and-treat) consisting of two compact pieces of equipment. Each unit is equipped with fireproof thermal and acoustic insulation.
Dimensions and Weight:
| ATEX Treatment Unit: | 2.5 x 0.9 x 2.0 m (L x W x H); 1000 kg |
| Compressor and Control Unit: | 1.7 x 0.9 x 2.0 m (L x W x H); 500 kg |
- The treatment unit, equipped with a hydrocarbon separator with a capacity of 1.5 l/s, a transfer pump, and a tank for phase storage, meets ATEX requirements, while the other contains the control electrical panel, a 2.2 kW compressor, and the explosivity control unit.
- The electrical panel allows control of all operational parameters, including temperature control and the relevant levels of liquids in the hydrocarbon separator and the storage tank.
- The panel is equipped with a modem that allows remote alarm message sending.
Outcome:
A very compact pump and treat unit with flexible installation for applications with hydrocarbons in ATEX conditions.
The design in two units allows flexible installation based on the specific conditions of space-constrained locations.
Despite its compact dimensions, the installation includes all the elements and features of a conventional treatment unit including thermal/acoustic insulation, automatic control with remote alarm notification, and ATEX compliance.
