Ask for informationThe PetroFLAG reagent kit (10 tests + 1 calibration) is a set of consumables designed for use with the PetroFLAG® system, used for the rapid detection of total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH) in soils and sediments.
This kit allows for up to 10 analytical determinations, including the necessary reagents for equipment calibration, ensuring reliable and repeatable results in the field or laboratory. It is a practical solution for environmental characterization campaigns, monitoring of contaminated soils, and tracking remediation processes.
- Analysis of total petroleum hydrocarbons in soil (TPH) without distinction between aliphatic and aromatic.
- Easy-to-use turbidity detection method for field use.
- Includes PetroFLAG reagents pre-dosed in glass ampoules for quality control.
- Packages available with 10 tests or 40 tests with calibration solutions.
- Optional portable detector (PetroFLAG analyzer) compatible for direct ppm reading.
- Typical measurement range from ≈15 ppm to 2 000 ppm or more with high-range reagents.
- Contaminated soil studies
- Preliminary assessment of TPH at industrial sites
- Monitoring of remediation processes
- Environmental control in construction and projects
The PetroFLAG Reagent Kit is used in conjunction with the photometric equipment of the PetroFLAG system to perform colorimetric analyses of hydrocarbons:
1. Sample preparation
- A representative amount of soil or sediment is taken.
- The sample is placed in the provided extraction vial or container.
2. Hydrocarbon extraction
- The extraction reagent included in the kit is added.
- The vial is shaken to facilitate the extraction of hydrocarbons present in the solid matrix.
3. Colorimetric reaction
- After extraction, the developer reagent is added.
- A chemical reaction occurs, generating a color change proportional to the TPH concentration.
4. Reading on the equipment
- The resulting solution is introduced into the PetroFLAG photometer.
- The equipment measures the color intensity and converts it into an estimated hydrocarbon concentration.
5. Calibration
- Before starting the series of analyses, the included calibration reagent is used to adjust the equipment and ensure measurement accuracy.
The system allows for fast and reliable field results, reducing laboratory shipping times and facilitating immediate decision-making.
- Quick on-site results
- Easy handling and straightforward procedure
- Includes calibration reagent
- Ideal for preliminary characterization campaigns
- Optimizes analysis time and costs
