The Heron ATEX Interface Probe is designed for detecting and measuring interfaces between liquids, such as the level of hydrocarbons and water, in potentially explosive environments (ATEX). Its design ensures safety, accuracy, and durability in environmental and industrial applications where strict compliance with safety regulations is required.

Manufactured with materials resistant to corrosion and chemicals, the Heron ATEX probe is suitable for use in wells, tanks, and underground monitoring systems, offering reliable measurements even in demanding field conditions. Its integration with logging systems and dataloggers allows continuous monitoring and precise control of interfaces, facilitating decision-making in remediation and environmental control.

The probe is ideal for environmental technicians, remediation operators, and monitoring laboratories, ensuring representative and repeatable data for hydrogeological studies and control of free products.

The intrinsically safe certification (ATEx, IECEx, CSA, UL Standards) makes the H. OIL ideal for use in hazardous environments by the oil and gas, chemical, and petrochemical industries.

  • Detects LNAPL/DNAPL and water interfaces with layers as thin as 0.75 mm (0.03”)
  • The optical sensor operates under direct sunlight.
  • 5/8” (16 mm) narrow diameter interface probe
  • Fully sealed and removable waterproof electronic panel.
  • Triple-sealed and removable electronic probe.
  • Best-in-class battery life.
  • Integrated self-diagnostics and modular construction facilitate troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Fully certified for use in hazardous environments (ATEx, IECEx, CSA, UL standards)
  • Adjustable volume control to protect your hearing
  • Stainless steel bearing for smooth winding
  • Sound and visual indicators.
  • Integrated hanger and roller to protect the tape.
  • Monitoring of liquid interfaces in control wells
  • Soil and groundwater remediation
  • Free product control (LNAPL) in industrial environments
  • Datalogging and remote monitoring systems
  • Safe environmental and hydrogeological surveys in ATEX

When taking measurements, it is recommended to lower the probe until it reaches the surface of the water/product. The presence of water is indicated by an intermittent tone, and the presence of product by a continuous tone. Note the depth mark on the tape. DO NOT attempt to measure the product/water interface at this stage. Allow the probe to pass through any product present in the water (indicated by the intermittent tone). Now, slowly withdraw the probe until the tone changes from intermittent to continuous. This point indicates the base of the product mark. Note the depth mark on the tape. This method prevents the product from being absorbed by the water, which would give false interface readings.

  • Safe for ATEX environments
  • High precision in liquid interface detection
  • Durable and resistant to demanding conditions
  • Compatible with remote monitoring and control systems
  • Representative and reliable results
  • Reduces risk of error in free product monitoring
