The HydraSleeve Super Skinny is a narrow version of the passive HydraSleeve sampler, developed for use in small-diameter monitoring wells or under conditions where available space is limited. Its design consists of a flexible polyethylene sleeve with a self-sealing valve that remains closed during installation and only opens during the recovery of the sampler, allowing it to capture a representative "core" of water from the selected interval.

The sampler operates under natural aquifer conditions and does not require purging the well before sampling, which prevents mixing of water from different levels and minimizes disturbance of the hydraulic system. This allows for more representative samples and significantly reduces time and work costs in the field.

Additionally, its flexible and reduced section design facilitates installation in narrow or restricted wells, while maintaining the ability to collect a discrete sample from the interval of interest.

  • Passive sampling without purging, avoiding the prior extraction of large volumes of water.
  • Flexible polyethylene design with a self-sealing valve that maintains sample integrity.
  • Slim "Super Skinny" design, suitable for wells with reduced diameter or limited space.
  • Compatible with a wide range of contaminants including metals, organic compounds, and pesticides.
  • Simple installation system, requiring only a suspension system and a lower weight.
  • Disposable design, eliminating the need for cleaning or decontamination between samples.
  • Environmental monitoring of groundwater in contaminated or regulated sites.
  • Assessment of contaminants such as metals, VOCs, pesticides, and other chemical compounds.
  • Studies of vertical contamination profiles through installation of multiple samplers at different depths.
  • Research in environmental remediation projects for soil and aquifers.
  • Monitoring in low-yield wells or slow recharge areas where traditional methods are not suitable.
  1. Installation: The sampler is inserted into the well using a rope or cable to the desired depth.
  2. Equilibration: It is left to rest in the interval of interest to allow the aquifer water to stabilize around the device.
  3. Recovery: When raising the sampler to the surface, the valve opens and the sleeve fills with aquifer water.
  4. Automatic sealing: Once filled, the system closes automatically, preserving the sample for transfer to analysis containers.
  • Significant reduction in sampling time by eliminating the well purging process.
  • Lower operational costs by reducing equipment, purge waste, and field time.
  • Representative samples of the aquifer obtained under natural flow conditions.
  • Possibility of vertical profiling by installing multiple samplers at different depths.
  • Applicable in slow-recharge wells where other sampling methods are less effective.
