Gas Sampling Kit
Gas Sampling Kit
AMS soil gas sampling kits allow sampling points to be installed and samples of subsurface gases and vapours to be collected for contaminated-land investigations, VOC detection, source identification and vapour intrusion studies. The range includes GVP and GVP Heavy Duty configurations with retractable or expendable tips, depending on the ground conditions and the objectives of the project.

- Vacuum station for gas collection (12v vacuum pump, rotameter, flow control valve, manometer, and mobile platform). Optional connections.
- Sub-slab: probe kit that allows sampling of volatiles beneath concrete slabs/blocks.
- Shallow soil gas sampling.
- Investigation of hydrocarbon spills.
- Assessment of underground storage tank and pipeline leaks.
- Investigation of landfill contamination and hazardous waste sites.
- Detection and delineation of volatile organic compounds —VOCs—.
- Identification of subsurface contamination sources.
- Vertical profiling at different sampling depths.
- Environmental investigations beneath paved or concrete surfaces.
- Shallow groundwater sampling using a Retract-A-Tip, where appropriate.
- Vapour intrusion investigations using dedicated AMS Sub-Slab GVP systems.
- Repeated sub-slab sampling through semi-permanent or permanent sampling points.
According to the technical procedure provided by the manufacturer AMS, the tip is connected to fluoropolymer tubing and advanced to the selected depth using GVP rods. In Retract-A-Tip configurations, the assembly is pulled back slightly to expose the sampling inlet holes. A vacuum is then applied at the surface to draw the soil gas through the tubing and convey it to the collection system.
- Enables soil gas samples to be collected at selected shallow depths.
- Choice between reusable Retract-A-Tips and permanent disposable Dedicated Tips.
- Reduced waiting time between installation and sampling when using Retract-A-Tips.
- Retract-A-Tips can be removed, decontaminated and reused.
- Heavy-Duty kits facilitate access through compact, hard or rocky soils.
- Flighted augers help pre-drill the borehole and reduce wear on GVP components.
- Suitable for vertical or horizontal sampling access, depending on site conditions.
- Modular system with rods, adapters, tips and installation accessories.
- Can be used with manual or powered installation equipment.
- Compatible with vacuum-based sample collection systems.
- Dedicated Sub-Slab GVP configurations are available for repeated vapour intrusion monitoring.
