Activated Sodium Persulfate is an advanced in situ chemical oxidation reagent (ISCO) that destroys organic contaminants found in groundwater and soil through abiotic chemical oxidation reactions. It is an all-in-one product with a built-in catalyst that activates the sodium persulfate component and generates free radicals that destroy contaminants without the costly and potentially dangerous addition of a separate activator.

Ask for informationActivated sodium persulfate is a potent, stable solid reagent that acts as a strong oxidizer in environmental, industrial, and laboratory applications. Its activated formulation allows for controlled release of active oxygen, facilitating the oxidation of organic contaminants and disinfection of surfaces or solutions.
It is widely used in soil remediation, water treatment, laboratory equipment cleaning, and decontamination processes, where effective and safe oxidizing action is required. Its stability and ease of handling make it suitable for use in the field and laboratory, providing consistent and reproducible results.
Activated sodium persulfate is ideal for environmental technicians, remediation engineers, and laboratory personnel, ensuring safety, efficiency, and reliability in its applications.
- Promotes rapid and sustained in situ oxidation of a wide range of organic contaminants.
- Contains an embedded catalyst that remains active throughout the entire lifespan of the persulfate oxidation reaction.
- The catalyst also eliminates the need for co-application of alternative and potentially hazardous activation chemicals.
- Fewer health and safety issues compared to traditional activation methods such as heat, chelated metals, hydrogen peroxide, or base.
- The single-component product results in simplified logistics and application.
- No additional containers or multi-step mixing ratios are required before application.
- Compatible with combined remediation approaches including enhanced biodegradation.
- Remediation of contaminated soils
- Treatment of wastewater and drinking water
- Oxidation of organic compounds
- Cleaning and decontamination of laboratory equipment
- Industrial processes requiring solid oxidants
Bags 20 kg. Warnings and recommendations on prevention and safety Like any strong oxidant, liquid sodium permanganate must be handled with care. Protective equipment during handling should include face shields and / or goggles, rubber or plastic gloves, and rubber or plastic apron. If clothes look stained, wash immediately; spontaneous ignition can occur with cloth or paper. In cases of significant exposure, use the appropriate NIOSH-MSHA dust or mist respirator. For more details do not hesitate to consult our SDS. Storage Avoid contact with acids, peroxides, and all combustible or easily oxidizable organic materials, including inorganic oxidizable materials and metal powders. With hydrochloric acid, chlorine gas is released. Liquid sodium permanganate is not combustible but will support combustion. It can decompose if exposed to intense heat. Fires can be controlled and extinguished by using large amounts of water. For more details do not hesitate to consult our SDS.
Typically, sodium persulfate is activated by adding heat, chelated metals, hydrogen peroxide, or base in order to generate sulfate radicals. These activation processes are complex, costly, and can pose additional health and safety risks. The use of sodium silicate as a catalyst makes persulfate a relatively safe and easy-to-use ISCO agent. Sodium persulfate uses a unique silica-based microscopic surface where oxidants and contaminants can bind and react in a distinct and efficient process known as 'surface-mediated oxidation.' During this process, oxidation reactions repeatedly occur on the catalyst surface serving various contaminant reduction functions:
- The generation of sulfate radicals and other oxidant species.
- Accelerated oxidation through the adsorption of contaminant molecules and other oxidant species.
- Catalyzes direct oxidation and free radical-mediated oxidation by sodium persulfate.
- Effective oxidation of organic pollutants
- Versatile for environmental, industrial, and laboratory applications
- Safety and stability during handling and storage
- Reproducible and reliable results
- Optimizes water treatments, soil remediation, and equipment cleaning
- Efficient and eco-friendly chemical accessory
